Teach RARE is our online business name for our registered non-profit charity organization Special Education Teaching and Learning Inc.
We support families with educational resources and activities in the rare disease, undiagnosed disease, and special needs community.
100%. We all work on a volunteer basis and put our own money towards our mission. We have full time jobs, and run Teach RARE as a part-time endeavor to support our community.
Richard and Judy Poulin established Teach RARE. As parents of a daughter with a rare disease, they know the struggles families face. They applied their background and experience as educators to help parents support making progress at home.
Teach RARE’s operations are supported by donations from foundations and individual supporters who choose to support them. We also rely on grants by institutions and other organizations. We do not take a percentage of donations made to Teach RARE.
For details on our revenues and expenses, see our financial statements.

For specific workshop dates we will provide at least 30 days advance notice. Volunteering services is available throughout the year.
Each of our events asks participants to make a donations. We also rely on sponsors to help absorb the costs of workshops. Any additional funds are given to volunteers in the form of a bonus to help offset their costs.
Please contact us. We can schedule a time to do a virtual meeting or in-person. During our first meeting, all the dates and specific details can be outlined. We can make a determination if we are able to accept your application.
Volunteers provide more of a service role than a fundraising role. If any funds are generated it is a bonus and we are thankful for your hard work. However, your main responsibility will be in the form of service.
