14th European Epilepsy Congress
The 14th EEC has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) with 34 European CME credits. The Scientific and Organising Committee is working to create a program that represents the best European and global epileptology. Sessions will include the Chairs’ Symposium, Teaching Courses, and Sessions, Platform Sessions, EEC Forums, and a Special Session on Epilepsy in emergencies among others.
During a satellite symposium sponsored by PTC Therapeutics, professors presented about AADC deficiency differential diagnosis and management; the clinician and caregiver experience.
The chair of the symposium was Prof. Francesco Porto from Italy. He spoke about identifying AADC deficiency – an underdiagnosed and underreported neurometabolic disorder. The symposium had a presentation from Prof. Bruria Ben Zeev from Israel. She spoke about the therapeutic landscape for AADC deficiency: key clinical data and patient outcomes.
The symposium closed with Prof. Francesco Porto introducing our family. We presented the AADC deficiency patient journey: a caregiver’s perspective. The symposium closed with an open forum where attending physicians were able to ask live questions during a Q&A session.
